18k Yellow Gold Victorian Sapphire Diamond Wing Brooch
Stunning Victorian wing brooch set with antique diamonds mounted in silver - as was typical of the era. At the centre of this 18k yellow gold backed brooch sits a stunning blue sapphire which shows no evidence of heat treatment. We wonder wether this striking brooch was maybe the inspiration for the contemporary pilot's wings? The brooch fitting can be removed by a simple screw mechanism, so that the wings may be mounted on another piece of jewellery - a tiara perhaps? Or simply attach it to one of Sam's double ended necklaces to convert it to a stunning neckpiece. A piece that is as versatile as it is beautiful.
